In Loving Memory
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Cynthia Joan LeMaster (Benham) on October 19, 2024, in Lexington, SC. Born on February 27, 1957, in Grand Rapids, MI, Cynthia was a beacon of warmth and humor for all who had the privilege to know her.
Cynthia, affectionately known for her spunky spirit and generous heart, brought immense joy to her family and friends. She was a loving and devoted wife to Gary LeMaster, Sr. for 48 years, and a cherished mother to her son Gary LeMaster, Jr. and her daughter Christie Waits. Her love extended to her daughter-in-law Melanie, her grandchildren—Braxton Charles LeMaster, Payton Leigh LeMaster, Timothy O'Quinn Waits, and David Humphreys, Jr.—who will fondly remember her laughter and comforting presence.
Cynthia's zest for life was infectious. Whether serenading family and friends during her beloved karaoke sessions with "Blanket on the Ground" or showering her pets Roscoe, Buddy, and Minnie with love, she had an extraordinary way of making everyone feel special. Her considerate nature and penchant for humor were hallmarks of her personality, capturing the hearts of all she encountered.
She is survived by her siblings, Jerry Benham (Jan), Peggy Garbrechat (Brian Burkholder), and Diane Jones (Richard), and sisters-in-law and cousins, who cherished her dearly. Throughout their lives, they were blessed with her nurturing spirit and unfailing support.
The family invites friends to join them in celebrating Cynthia's remarkable life on Tuesday, October 29, from 5 to 7 PM, at Thompson Funeral Home, 4720 Augusta Road, Lexington, SC 29073.
Rest in peace, dear Cynthia, knowing your legacy of love, laughter, and kindness will forever endure in the hearts of those you left behind.
