In Loving Memory Of
Rachel Ann LaShier, 82, passed away on October 24, 2024, in Jacksonville, FL. Born on March 2, 1942, in Medina, NY, to Ruth and Warren Martin, Rachel was a devoted Christian whose faith guided her throughout her life. She married the love of her life, Allen F. LaShier, Sr. on October 17, 1959. They were married for 42 years until his death, and they are now reunited.
She is lovingly remembered as a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister whose kindness and unwavering spirit were a guiding light for her family. Rachel is survived by her daughter Michelle A. Grefrath (David), Son Robert A. LaShier (Bolivia), Son James R. LaShier (Raquel), daughter Renee L. Gandee (David); son Pierre L. LaShier, son Allen F. LaShier, Jr. (Sheri). She cherished her role as grandmother to Thomas, Michael, Matthew, James Jr., Brett, Olivia, Amari, Aaron, Cameron, Gavin, Brittany, and Concetta as well as great-grandmother to nine great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind her siblings, David Martin (Joanne), Mary Martin, and Carol Hunting (David).
Rachel’s life and legacy will be cherished by all who knew her, and she will be deeply missed.
A service to celebrate her life will be held at LaGrange Baptist Church, 7092 Lagrange Rd, Pavilion, NY 14525, on Saturday, November 23, 2024, at 11:00am, with a reception to follow at Wyoming Hook and Ladder Co. Firehall, 26 Maple St, Wyoming, NY 14591.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Ralph Bunch CPSA Senior Center, 1501 Georgia Ave., Woodbine, GA 31569, or to LaGrange Baptist Church.
