Frances Aragon Mascarenas
February 25th, 1924 - September 8th, 2024
Frances passed away on September 8, 2024. She was the oldest child born to Louie and Nancy Aragon on February 25, 1924 in Holman, New Mexico. She had a brother named Louie Aragon Jr who preceded her in death. She moved to Rocky Ford, CO when she was a teenager. She married Fred Mascarenas and lived with his parents in La Juanta, CO during WWII. They had three children. Nancy (Phil) Byrne of Langley, WA, Linda (Carlos) Restrepo of El Paso, TX, Fred Mascarenas Jr. of Aurora, CO, Jack (Carmen) Smith Jr. of Wheatland, WY.
Following the disillusion of marriage from Fred Sr, Frances moved into McKittrick Manor where she stayed until she passed. She lived there for 28 years. She volunteered at the Senior Center Sage Shop for twenty years and enjoyed it a lot. Frances loved to travel especially to the Hawaiian Islands. When Frances turned 100, she had a party at Fred’s house and a request to get 100 birthday cards was sent out. She got her cards and enjoyed her special day so much. Frances passed away while visiting her son.
Frances is survived by 4 children, 2 grandchildren (Jeff & Greg), 6 great-grandchildren (Braxton, Miquela, Roman, Adrian, Jace Black and Jens Smith, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
