George “Jim” Edward Gass, age 86, of Blythewood, South Carolina, passed away on October 24, 2024. Jim was born in New Brunswick, NJ on February 17, 1938.

He grew up in Westfield, New Jersey and then attended Norwich University in Vermont.

After college, he served for six years in the US Army, attaining the rank of 1st Lieutenant as a rotary wing aviator during the Vietnam War. He then worked in labor relations for 40 years. During his retirement, Jim enjoyed playing golf.

Jim is survived by his children, Janice (Robert) Voigt and Vernon Gass, his grandchildren, Tyler Voigt and Melanie (Sam) Schiffer, and his brother, Terri Gass. He was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Susan E. Pike (2015) and by his parents, Charles J. Gass (1986) and Dorothy H. Druckemiller (2003).

Services will be announced at a later date.
