Wilma Elaine Holsinger, 80 of Evans, Colorado passed away Saturday, October 19, 2024 at Fairacres Manor in Greeley. She was born, April 16, 1944 at home in Chanute, Kansas to Edward and Jewell (White) Dobkins. Wilma graduated from Fort Collins High School in 1962, while in high school she pursued modeling and later became a dedicated stay-at-home mom while her children were young. In her 20s, she married Jerry Holsinger and together they welcomed two beloved children, Lori and Brian.
Wilma worked as a receptionist at Moore and Company Real Estate, CSU, First Centennial Corp. and attended CSU Business Advertising course which led her to a position at GIS World Magazine, then sales positions at a cabinet company in Estes Park, as well as a carpet company in Greeley. After retiring in 2010, she enjoyed her role as a food hostess at Sam’s.
She met her fiancé, Sam Nelson, 25 years ago; he was her best friend and life partner. She cherished her role in the family, embracing Sam's Children, Cresta (Nelson) and Jim Wold, Curt and Teresa Nelson and their children and grandchildren.
Wilma “Willy” enjoyed painting, writing poetry, sewing, cooking, bird watching/feeding (hawks and robins were her favorite), dragonflies, dogs, plants/gardening/flowers (favorite was the yellow rose), dancing, singing, traveling, refinishing furniture, crafts, decorating, shopping at thrift stores, and entertaining family and friends. She loved telling jokes and making people laugh. She lit up a room with her gorgeous personality and smile. She was the most lovable genuine person and did not have a mean bone in her body. Those who knew her loved her kind caring loving nature! She accepted people for who they were.
Wilma was preceded in death by her parents, and her brother Robert Dobkins. She is survived by her fiancé, Sam Nelson; her children Lori Holsinger-Wold and Brian Holsinger and wife Stephanie; grandchildren, Breana (Kyle) Balthasar, Aaron Wold, Zachery (Jessica) Holsinger, and Kyler Holsinger; great-grandchildren, Brayden, Karly and Kora; her brother Marvin (Connie) Dobkins and numerous more family and friends that she loved and will miss her!
