Anthony Paul DiMurro, known to family and friends as Paul, passed away at the age of 62 on October 30, 2024 in Tucson, AZ following complications from Alzheimer’s. Paul was born on May 23, 1962 in Brooklyn, NY to Anthony DiMurro and Ellen Larsen.
Paul grew up in New York and New Jersey. He met Darla in 1979, and they were married in Kingston, NY in 1981. After a 22 year career in the United States Army, he settled his family in Sierra Vista, AZ in 1997 where he continued to serve his country as a civil service employee at Fort Huachuca. During this time, Paul graduated from the University of Arizona with a master’s degree in educational technology.
Paul led an active and enriched life surrounded by family and friends. His interests included golfing, cycling, and regular outings in the R.V. for camping and four wheeling.
Paul is survived by his devoted and loving wife Darla (Mazzuca) DiMurro; his children, Tony DiMurro, Brian DiMurro (Skyler), and Miranda Hagadorn (Scott); his beloved grandchildren, Ian, Olivia, and Elijah; his parents, Anthony DiMurro (Fran) and Ellen Larsen (Fred); his siblings, Debbie DiMurro (Madonna), Rob DiMurro (Helen), and Lisa DiMurro-Johnson (Brenden); and nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his niece Samantha DiMurro and his grandparents.
A visitation will be held on November 15 at 3:00 PM at Hatfield Funeral Home in Sierra Vista, AZ, followed by a memorial service with military honors at 4:00 PM. Family and friends are welcome to attend.
For those that wish, the family respectfully ask that in lieu of flowers or other tributes, a donation is made in Paul’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association.
