Martha LaVerne Pittman

In loving memory of Martha LaVerne Pittman, née Green, a wonderful soul who graced us with joy and laughter throughout her 91 years on this earth. Born on May 20, 1933, Martha lived a full life that came to a peaceful end on November 13, 2024, at Baptist Health in Lexington, KY.  

Martha spent most of her working career with Logans of Midway and after her retirement went to work for the Woodford County Sheriff's Department. 

Martha is preceded in death by her father Benjamin Franklin Green Sr, mother Mary Edith Cook Green, her husband, Herman Pittman and  loving daughter Mary Ellen Coffin. She is survived by her daughter Pam Craig, who, along with husband Deen Craig, reside in Midway. Her warmth blossomed into the lives of her grandchildren – Matthew Craig, Paige Craig, John (Melinda) Goldey, Andrew (Courtney) Goldey, and Jessica (Eldon) Huff, who, along with their families, enriched her life with ten great-grandchildren. 

A graveside service in her honor will take place at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Frankfort on Monday, November 18, 2024, at 2:00 pm. It's a time to remember and celebrate the compassion and joy Martha shared with all of us. Though her presence will be dearly missed, the echo of her laughter and the warmth of her spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of those she loved and who loved her in return.
