David Eugene Shipes, Jr., passed away November 13, 2024 in Charlotte, NC. He was born February 27, 1956 in Charlotte, NC, to the late David Eugene Shipes, Sr. and Julia Ann Hoover Shipes.

He was a truck driver for 45 years.

He is survived by his 3 sisters, Patsy Payne, Kathy (Russell) Furr, and Sara Hoyle; sister-in-law Robin Shipes; 11 nieces and nephews and 13 great nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his 3 other brothers, Ronnie, Jimmy, and Buck.

A Celebration of Life will be held on November 23, 2024 at 11 am at North Main Baptist Church, 1304 N Main St., Mt. Holly, NC, 28120. His service will be given by Pastor Larry Laughter.

He will be greatly missed by all of his family and friends but we are comforted knowing he is now in Heaven with his mother, father, and brother.
