It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of SSgt. Henry Green, Sr., a cherished member of our community, who left us on November 17, 2024. Born on March 2, 1953, in Macon, GA, Henry's journey through life was one marked by service, devotion, and an unwavering sense of humor that brought joy to all who knew him.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at the visitation, which will be held at the Heritage Memorial Funeral Home on Monday, December 2 from 2:00PM until 4:00PM. Though he has departed from this earth, Henry's spirit and loving memories will continue to inspire all who knew him.
Henry spent his formative years in Macon, where he first nurtured his lifelong passions for sports and family gatherings. Whether he was cheering under the Friday night lights of a local football game or planning a family beach trip, Henry's enthusiasm for life was infectious.
A dedicated serviceman, Henry served with distinction in the United States Army, embodying the values of honor and honesty. His military service not only highlighted his steadfast character but also laid a foundation of resilience and dedication that he brought into all aspects of his life, both in and out of uniform. A man who valued honesty, Henry found simple pleasures in the camaraderie of horse racing and never missed a chance to spend a day at the beach. His humor and honest approach to life earned him respect and affection from those around him.
Henry was the beloved husband of Carolyn Green and the father of a large, loving family, including his children Mark (Pam) Eason, Moses (Jessie) Eason, Emriguetta Minter, Keishetta Joiner, Henry Green, Jr., Joshua Marshall, and Jeremy Marshall. He is also remembered joyfully by his fifteen grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, who will carry forward his legacy of laughter and integrity.
Preceded in death by his parents, Arthur Green and Ola Brooks Green, Henry leaves behind his siblings Arthur Green, Jr., Luella Green, Linda Green, Larry Green, and Alonzo Green, along with several nieces and nephews who will miss his stories and wisdom.
