Billie I. Goetzel, age 83, died November 19, 2024, peacefully in her home surrounded by her family.  She was born May 3, 1941, in Phoenix, AZ to William (Bill) and Jewell Tetiva.

Billie grew up in Kersey and lived in Greeley since 1959 where she married Allen Goetzel.  They had two children, Lynne Frederick (Goetzel) and James Goetzel. They had almost 47 years together.  Allen passed in 2005.  In 2017, Billie met up with an old friend, Gus Geisick, who became her faithful partner, champion, care giver, and a huge blessing to the family.

Billie loved her family and friends.  She enjoyed meeting them for coffee at McDonald’s, and getting together with them at the Moose Lodge, where she was a member.  You could often find her and her friends at the Moose for Taco Tuesday or Bingo or at a local restaurant for Sunday breakfasts.

Surviving family members include, her daughter Lynne and husband Clay Frederick from California, her son James Goetzel from Wyoming; her grandchildren: Darrel Goetzel, Dane Frederick, Tara Hampton (and her husband Aaron); two great-grandsons:  Harvey James Hampton and Everett Israel Hampton.  Also survived by her brother, Richard Tetiva and his wife Judy, and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Allen; sister, Thecki Thompson and brother -in-law, Bill Thompson.

Graveside Services will be held at Evans Cemetery, HWY 34 bypass and 11th Avenue at 10:00AM, Wednesday, November 27th.  Celebration of Life will be held at Adamson’s Chapel, 2000 47th Ave., Greeley at 11:00AM.

Memorial gifts may be made to Pathway Hospice, 4075 West 11th Street, Greeley, CO 80634.
