Elizabeth “Liz” M. Trujillo Mares, 75 passed away on October 26, 2024 in Tampa, FL . Elizabeth was born on October 11, 1949, to Archie and Annie Trujillo. She was raised in Albuquerque. Liz was the second oldest of a family of six. She attended North Valley High School where she graduated and then went on to the University of New Mexico where she met her future husband, James. Liz graduated with a bachelor’s in education and later received her Master’s. She was an educator and principal for over 30 years in which she always enriched and nurtured the lives of all her staff and students. Liz and James lived in Bernalillo where they raised their children Jamille and Paul James; whom they absolutely adored. In Bernalillo they were both active parishioners of OLOS. She was also a youth group leader for several years where she enriched the faith of the community’s youth. She worked with and started “God’s Little Angels” to help support her community that she loved. Liz also was involved with St. Vincent De Paul in Bernalillo and San Clemente Catholic Church in Los Lunas. Liz enjoyed going to amusement parks with her family and watching her grandsons, Santino & Luca play football. She loved her grandchildren with all her heart. She enjoyed fishing, Lobo basketball, Motown Music, Dancing to Rancheras and shopping. More than anything Liz was a devout Catholic and had a very close relationship with our Lord. She is preceded in death by her loving husband, James, parents, Archie and Annie Trujillo, brother, Alex Trujillo, and sister, ArchieAnn Trujillo. Liz is survived by her children, Jamille Carrion (Ron) and Paul Mares (Britt). She leaves behind her precious grandchildren, Josiah, Emiliah, Noah, Azariah, Jeremiah Carrion, Santino, Luca Mares, sisters, Arlene Martinez (Frank), Patricia Trujillo, Dodie Medrano (Tony) and many nieces and nephews. Liz was a loving mother, “Mam” (grandma), sister, auntie and friend. She is loved and will be missed. We know you are with our Lord Jesus and Dad. We love you Mom.
