Ralph Dennis Parsons, lovingly known as “Denny,” passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of faith, love, and service. Born in Minneapolis, Minnesota, Denny was the beloved son of Ralph and Esther Parsons. After his father’s passing when Denny was just nine, he and his mother shared cherished memories of Minnesota summers before moving to Hollywood, California, and later to Compton.

In 1952, Denny joined the Navy, serving with the CBs (Construction Battalion) in the Philippines. Upon returning, he attended Biola College and Denver Seminary, where he answered God’s call to ministry.

Denny and his beloved wife, Janet, were married for 71 wonderful years. Together, they raised three sons: Steve (Diane), David (Becky), and Mark (Jimmie Sue). Their family blossomed to include seven grandchildren—  Michelle Lloyd (Jon), James Parsons (Jess), Mike Parsons (Stacey), Shannon Burkhalter (JB), Marcie Sawyer (Joey), Melissa Peterson (Andy), and CJ Parsons—and 20 great-grandchildren; Kelly, Connor, Andre, Elisha, Zak, Logan, Makayla, Jaxon, Micah, Josiah, Aliyah, Abby, Bryson, Hannah, Brianna, Maddie, Katie, Kashton, Benjamin and Joshua. As an only child, Denny took immense pride in his large and loving family.

Denny’s 60-year ministry spanned numerous churches, beginning with First Baptist Church in Hawaiian Gardens, California, in 1960 and continuing across Arizona in places like Bagdad, Winslow, Phoenix, Chandler, Prescott Valley, and Chino Valley.

He eventually retired from ministry but never from his zest for life. in-between retirement, Denny owned and operated Noah’s Ark Pet Shop, where he earned the nickname “Noah,” and later contributed to Preference Drive-In Cleaners.

Denny’s humor, teasing, and love for popcorn will be fondly remembered by all who knew him. His unwavering faith and dedication to his family leave a legacy that will endure for generations.

A celebration of Denny’s life will be held at Antioch Community Church,1125 N Dobson, on December 14, 2024, at 11:00 AM.

"God had other plans,” and Denny followed them faithfully.
