Paul Markus Hurley
October 3rd, 1956 - November 30th, 2024
Paul Markus Hurley, 68, of Greeley, passed into Heaven while in Arizona on November 30, 2024. He was born October 3, 1956 to Melvin and Helen Hurley in Salem, Missouri.
Paul graduated from high school in Waverly, Iowa and married Mary Knecht on April 5, 1975 at the Immaculate Conception Church in Charles City, Iowa.
Paul worked for Atmos Energy before retiring. They enjoyed spending time with their grandkids, treating them to ice cream at Dairy Queen or A&W in Eaton.
He rode motorcycles, enjoyed camping and traveling to his favorite destination, Hawaii.
Paul is a member of St. Peter Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Hurley of Greeley, sons; Eric (Hannah) Hurley of Pierce and Jason (Roxanne) Hurley of Greeley, seven grandchildren; Dhalton Akey, Logan Hurley, BobbieJo Hurley, JJ Hurley, Trace Hurley, Tucker Hurley and Rozalie Hurley, siblings; Patty (Jeff) Long of Louisville, KY and Peggy (Ron) Combs of Council Bluffs, IA as well as many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his baby brother, parent-in-law, Herbert and Esther Knecht, brother-in-law Dennis Knecht and his life mentor Mac McKenzie.
A Recitation of the Rosary will begin at 9 am followed by the Memorial Mass at 9:30 am Friday, December 13, 2024 at St. Peter Catholic Church. A reception will follow in the Parish Hall. Inurnment in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Memorial gifts may be made to “Special Olympics of Northern Colorado” or “Rocky Mountain Honor Flight” in care of Adamson, 2000 47th Ave., Greeley, CO 80634. Condolences may be shared at AdamsonCares.com.
