Sierra Mininger
May 15th, 2000 - December 8th, 2024
Sierra Nicole Mininger was born May 15, 2000, to Jeremy Joaquin Mininger and Delma Gonzales in Greeley, Colorado.
She tragically passed from this Earth on December 8, 2024, at Banner Health North Medical Center with her beloved Dad, her sister Felina Justine, and brother Joaquin Giovanni by her side.
Sierra was a dimpled, dark-haired beauty with a big sparkling smile and a huge personality! Her sister Felina describes her as a “ray of daily sunshine and positive energy”! Those who knew Sierra resoundingly agree! She looked for the good in life, choosing not to dwell on the negative. Her deep love for animals, her friends, and her family was always apparent. Her love and zest for life extended to her intense appreciation for nature- the mountains, hiking, fishing- the outdoors!
Sierra possessed a remarkable gift to help others emotionally through their hard times. Her friends will attest to this; particularly her father, Joaquin, who tearfully remembers Sierra’s ability to restore joy in him after experiencing his own very tough and challenging period of time.
Energetic, goofy, and fiercely competitive, a ‘foodie’, a great cook, a ‘go-getter’, someone with strength of character, a ‘social butterfly’, an artist, ‘having the biggest heart’, someone who loved doing hair and make-up… these are only a few of the plethora of words describing Sierra. Her brother Gio fondly remembers one of her favorite ‘shout-outs’… YOLO (You Only Live Once). With Sierra’s strong work ethic, she was quickly elevated to management positions, where her coworkers greatly benefited from her leadership skills.
Sierra was a graduate of Northridge High School and a 4-year member of the U.S. Marine Corps JROTC (Junior Reserve Officers’ Training Corps), one of the most significant character development and citizenship programs for youth in the country. She excelled in this program! She was a top rifle marksman and spoke at the annual JROTC Marine Birthday Ball. She was instrumental in recruiting her dad, Jeremy Joaquin, to be the grand event’s music ‘DJ’, a service he has performed for the past 13 years.
Left behind to mourn Sierra’s early passing are: her dad, Jeremy Joaquin, sister Felina Justine, brother Joaquin Giovanni (Gio), her mother Delma, her half-sister Raylene, her paternal grandparents Wayne and Ardith Mininger, her maternal grandmother Linda Gonzales, maternal grandfather John Gonzales, her beloved ‘fur babies’- Snoop, Layla, Azula, Milo and Tia (her dad’s furry friend), numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins, plus a host of treasured friends and acquaintances.
“Only a moment you stayed, but what an imprint your footprints have left on our hearts.”
Dorothy Ferguson
