With hearts heavy with sadness, yet full of love, we announce the passing of Aundrea “Drea” Lindsay Hamilton on December 8, 2024, in Rochester, Washington. She was a beloved wife, mother, daughter, and friend who spread kindness and joy wherever she went.

Born in Flagstaff, Arizona, on November 6, 1985, to Gilbert and Dottie Ayala, Drea was a proud Flagstaff native who carried her Arizona roots and Mexican heritage with her throughout her life. Though an only child, Drea was part of a wonderfully large family thanks to her grandparents (Tranquilino & Corine Ayala and Ernie & Rhoda Ryan). She had many aunts, uncles, and cousins as close as siblings. She graduated from Coconino High School in 2004 and attended Coconino Community College.

In Flagstaff, Drea met the love of her life, Mickey Hamilton (son of Karen Hamilton & Mickey “Pete” Hamilton), while working at Dr. McLaughlin’s Orthodontic Office. The two were married on March 29, 2006, embarking on a beautiful journey of love and family. In 2013, Drea and her family moved to the Olympia, Washington, area, where they built a vibrant life together, highlighted by their three wonderful daughters—Haley Ambrosia (18), Ayla Corine (16), and Bella Lynn (13), all of whom possess many of Drea’s best qualities.

Drea wore many hats throughout her life: she worked as a legal assistant, orthodontic insurance billing specialist, waitress, and property manager. But her most treasured roles were as a wife, mother, devoted servant in her church and community, and proud member of the law enforcement family.

A passionate volunteer, Drea gave her time to organizations such as Raise for Rowyn, Rochester Youth Dynamics, and Music for Mary. She served her church family at Rochester Life, where she coordinated children’s ministry and offered her support wherever needed.

Drea had an infectious zest for life and a wide array of hobbies. She loved her farm animals—pigs, goats, chickens, ducks, and rabbits—camping with her family (including primitive camping and historical 18th?century reenactments), and reading. Christmas was her favorite time of year, so much so, that she would often ask her family to decorate the house for Christmas on her birthday (November 6th). She also had a knack for hair, makeup, and nails and loved sharing these talents with friends and loved ones.

Above all, Drea was a light in the lives of those who knew her. She brought warmth, humor, and unwavering support to family and friends alike. She was welcoming to strangers, quick to lend a hand to those in need, and an advocate for others.

Drea’s legacy is one of love, generosity, and faith. She brightened every room she entered and worked tirelessly to care for others, ensuring they felt valued and supported. Over the last couple years of cancer treatment, as Drea did everything possible to stay on this side of eternity with her loved ones as long as possible, she continued to model grace, strength, humility, and love. She will be deeply missed but forever remembered in the hearts of all who knew her.

A celebration of Drea’s life will be held on Friday, December 20, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Temple Baptist Church in Lacey, Washington (3806 College St SE). A celebration of life will also be held in Flagstaff, Arizona, in January (details to be determined). Drea will be laid to rest in Mickey’s family’s plot in Duncan, Arizona; the graveside service will be held on December 27, 2024, at 11:00 a.m.
