Margaret Elaine Leusch Spoonamore, 86, of Cleveland, Ohio, passed away peacefully on December 11, 2024. She was preceded in death by her loving husbands, Thomas Leusch (d. Mar. 1982) and Richard Spoonamore (d. Feb. 2020), her beloved parents Steve and Clara Torma, brother Steven A, and sister Betty St. John.
Elaine was an extraordinarily devoted great-grandmother, grandmother, mother, and friend. She dedicated her life to her family and had a passion for the arts and literature. Throughout her life, Elaine enjoyed life’s simple joys: engaging conversations, pleasure reading, 1950s/60s film and crime shows, gardening, and of course, “high-octane” coffee.
Elaine was incredibly driven and had a diverse professional career as a Registered Nurse in various clinical and management capacities at NASA and Fairview General Hospital in Cleveland as well as at the Tucson VA hospital, Tucson Medical Center and IntegraMed. Elaine achieved a Master's Degree in Nursing and a Master's degree in Business Administration. As a New Product Development manager with TMC, Elaine was instrumental in raising $5 million for Proyecto Amancer to facilitate joint medical training for cardiothoracic surgeons in Mexico. She also served as a director of Market Development and Services with TMC. Additionally, Elaine was a teacher in both nursing and business administration; she staunchly believed in giving back to her community. These values were modeled to and live on in her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchild. Her kindness, warmth, and love touched everyone she knew.
Elaine is survived by her sister Maryann Cofta (husband Paul) and her immediate family members: Mark Steven Leusch (wife Cindy), Victoria Marie Brummet (husband Bruce), grandchildren: Steven Alexander Leusch, Kristen Denise Spalding (husband Ethan), Katelyn Elaine Brummet, Rebecca Juliet Brummet, Monica Renee Thompson (husband Nick) and great-grandchild Adleigh Mae Spalding as well as extended family members David James Spoonamore and Mark Allen Spoonamore (wife Lenore), and granddaughters Ryan Allie Spoonamore and Jamie Allene Spoonamore. In addition, Elaine had numerous friends who will miss her dearly.
A mass will be held at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Tucson on January 7 at 11 am. A celebration of Elaine’s life and her burial at Holy Cross Cemetery will occur in Cleveland shortly
thereafter. Friends and family are invited to attend either of these ceremonies, to share their memories, and honor the remarkable woman Elaine was.
Rest in peace, Grandma and Mom. Your love will forever remain in our hearts.
