Gwendolyn Elaine Dyer

Gwendolyn Elaine Dyer, 96, of Lexington Kentucky, passed away on December 22, 2024, after a long and fulfilling life.
Gwen was born on September 6, 1928, in Williamson WV to James Earl and Bradie Tackett. She had one brother, Julian Tackett.
Gwen was married to Tom for over 40 years. They had two daughters: Kim Root and Valerie Dyer(who is deceased). Gwen was known for her strong will, determination and love and support for her family and friends. She was a member of Trinity Church in Lexington, Kentucky.
Gwen was preceded in death by her husband Tom, her parents, James Earl and Bradie, her daughter Valerie Dyer, a grandson Neil Root and a great granddaughter Madeline Root.
She is survived by her brother Julian Tackett, her daughter Kim Root, her son-in-law Fran Root, her grandchildren Stephen Root and Leighanne Teodorescu (Razvan) and one great grandchild Zoe Teodorescu. And she is survived by many loving nieces, nephews and friends.
Gwen worked at Wolf Wiles, Kids Place, and Fayette County Parks and Recreation where she made many lasting friendships. Gwen enjoyed traveling, reading, walking, playing the piano and UK Football and Basketball.

Family and Friends are welcome to attend a Celebration of Gwen’s life, at Clark Legacy in Brannon Crossing, Nicholasville, Kentucky on December 30, 2024. Visitation with food and drinks from 5:00-7:00pm and a service and sharing of memories at 6:00pm.
