It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Gerald Paul Card, age 90, on December 18, 2024 in Loveland, Colorado. Jerry was born to Leo Francis Card and Elizabeth "Bessie" Reilly on November 12, 1934 in St Louis, MO.
He served in the Marine Corps based out of Camp Pendleton in San Diego, CA. He is a veteran of the Korean War and also served in Japan. After a short stint in banking and insurance he was a Machining Manager and CPA working for the California Broach Company in Los Angeles for many decades.
He was an avid sports fan especially loving baseball and hockey and above all, his St Louis Cardinals. He enjoyed coaching Little League baseball for years. He also had great fun playing bingo and especially volunteering calling games in California.
He was active in the Lions Club of the San Gabriel Valley-even serving as president of the club for a time, Moose Lodge of Rosemead CA, and San Gabriel Mission parish and elementary school. He planned many summer road trips visiting a variety of National Parks. He was very interested in history, especially Egyptian history. He was a very good plant tender and was especially proud of the roses he grew. Jerry moved to Longmont, Colorado in 2013 and then was cared for at Brookdale Marianna Butte in Loveland. Predeceased by his parents, siblings and his wife Beverly Laverne Card. He is survived by his children Christopher Jon Card, Tammy Ann Lindquist and Samantha Lynn Rodriguez and grandchildren Krystal Flores, Nicole Card, Shaun Card, Amelie Rodriguez and Hannah Rodriguez. He will rest eternally beside his wife of 65 years at Ft Logan National Cemetary Denver, Colorado.
