Elizabeth "Betty" Edna Plant, 82, passed away December 28, 2024 surrounded by her family. She was born on February 19, 1942 in Lowell, lived most of her life in Belchertown and Palmer, and graduated from Belchertown High School. Betty began her career as one of the first female police officers in Belchertown before taking time away to raise a family. After several years, Betty re-entered law enforcement by serving as a matron and dispatcher for both Belchertown and Palmer for over three decades before retiring.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Alexis and Edith (Willy) Theriault. She will be dearly missed by her daughter, Amy Currier and her husband Gene; son, Alan Plant and his wife Jennifer; and her grandson, Chance Plant.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 9th from 11am-12pm at the Beers & Story Belchertown Funeral Home. Burial will be held privately.
