Richard Michael Igoe, a cherished soul who brightened the lives of many, passed away on December 7th, 2024, in St. Petersburg, FL. Born in Jersey City, NJ, on November 18th, 1941, Richard led a life marked by dedication, warmth, and kindness.

Richard, known for his unwavering work ethic and commitment, served in the United States Air Force, a period in his life that instilled profound respect for duty and service. Following his military service, he embarked on a long and fruitful career with BellSouth as a lineman, retiring after 35 admirable years of service. During the early years of his retirement, he continued to share his time and skills working in maintenance alongside his dear friend, Phil Pressley, at Heritage Hills in Hendersonville, NC.

Beyond his professional life, Richard found joy and companionship in his beloved dog, Gracie, who accompanied him on daily walks. He relished his regular trips to Panera, as well as his workouts at LA Fitness with his friend Tom, which kept him active and engaged with life.

Family was core to Richard's existence. He is predeceased by his parents, Ann and James Igoe; his loving wife, Rita Mohin Igoe, with whom he shared 51 beautiful years; his brother Jimmy and sister-in-law Antonia Igoe, and his sister MaryKit Igoe. He leaves behind his beloved daughters, Melissa Igoe, Jenna Igoe, and Suzanne Igoe (Laureen), and his niece, Deirdre Igoe.

Richard's legacy will continue through the joyful memories and love he left behind. In memory of Richard, friends and family are invited to make contributions to the charity of their choice, or to causes close to Richard's heart such as the American Heart Association, FCAS.org, or the Atlanta Humane Society.

May Richard's memory be a source of comfort and inspiration as we celebrate a life well-lived and a legacy of love.
