Ann Smigielski, 98, died peacefully on Dec. 19, 2024.

The daughter of German immigrants, Ann spent her early years in Buffalo, NY where she met a young U.S. Army Air Corps cadet, Richard Smigielski, the love of her life. Ann and Richard married on Dec. 27, 1947. Ann spent 25 years being very active in the USAF community and creating a home in each new place as they traveled the country. After retiring from the service, they moved back to Buffalo, where Ann worked for New York state in the unemployment office. In 1994 they gave up the cold snowy winters and headed to Florida. Ann was an avid bridge player with a wry sense of humor, active at IRCC and volunteering with local organizations. She cherished her family deeply and will be remembered fondly by all who knew her.

Ann is survived by her children Karen, Rick, Janet; son-in-law, Michael Martin; grandsons, Travis (Anja) Martin, Nicholas (Anna Norman) Martin, Arman and Emile Smigielski; great grandsons, Benjamin and Samuel Martin. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 62 years, Richard Smigielski.

In lieu of flowers please send donations to P.E.O International at: www.peointernational.org/make-a-gift.

Local services have been held. Final interment will be at Arlington National Cemetery.
