Alma Jane Ennis

Alma Jane Ennis, 89, of Tacoma, Washington, passed away peacefully on December 24, 2024. Born in Seattle, Washington on June 15, 1935, she was raised on the family farm in Bothell, WA. Alma spent the majority of her life in Tacoma, where she raised her family and became a beloved member of the community.

Alma worked as a telephone operator for many years, retiring from Pacific Northwest Bell, where she made lasting friendships and was known for her strong work ethic and dedication. She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Robert "Bob" Ennis; her grandson, Brian Jacobsen; and her parents, Thelma and Roy Thomsen.

Alma is survived by her three daughters: Marcie Doolin of Tacoma, WA; Cindy (Russell) Stout of Prineville, OR; and Cheryl (David) Reynolds of Olympia, WA. She is also survived by her four grandchildren: Cassie (Tim)Kelly, Molly Trottman, Jeff (Keiko) Doolin, and Benjamin Doolin, her seven great-grandchildren: Keegan and Marlee Trottman, Tripp and Reese Kelly, Kathryn, Hannah and Evangeline Doolin: and her constant canine companion Charlee.

Alma's greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, whom she loved to spoil. Whether it was preparing delicious meals, creating beautiful projects in her sewing room, or simply offering her unwavering love and support, Alma was a constant source of warmth and kindness. She will be remembered for her generosity, loyalty, and the genuine care she showed to everyone she met.

A graveside service will be held in Alma’s honor on Friday, January 3rd 2024, at 12:30 at Fir Lane Memorial Park with a Celebration of life at Lighthouse Christian Center at 2:00. A reception to follow.
