Marcelino Martinez Jr.
Born in Santa Fe, N.M. Age 76
It is with great sadness that the family of Marcelino Martinez Jr. (Sonny) announce his passing on December 25, 2024.
Marcelino (Sonny) was a loving son, father, brother, and friend. He was proud to have served in the United States Army, earning many honors, including the National Service Defense Medal, for his service in Vietnam. Anyone who knew our father knew of the great man he was. He made us laugh with his great personality and warm heart.
Marcelino is survived by daughter Marcella Chacon (Maclen), grandchildren Victoria, Kenny, Angel-Luis, and great grandson Liam Arnoldo.
Daughter Denise Rivera (Harvey), grandchildren Leonard, Desiree, Jay, Israel, and great grandchildren Lilly, Faith, Annika, Zaryah, and Niyah.
Daughter Doreen Garcia (Cervando), grandchildren Dorinda, Briana, Cervando Jr. and Andi, great grandchildren Sebastian and Romeo.
Daughter Yvonne Martinez (Jonathan Roybal), grandchildren Ariana, Jonathan, Robert, and Paul.
He is also survived by his sister Mary, and brothers Louie, Tony, Steve, and Eddie and several nieces and nephews.
Marcelino is preceded in death by his father, Marcelino Martinez, Sr., his mother, Rose Martinez, his sister Linda Martinez, and his brother Johnny Martinez.
We will miss our dad and we will cherish our memories and time spent with him. We find comfort in the fact that he will now be reunited with family that have passed. Dad you will be truly missed and in our hearts you will stay. You will always be our hero.
Love always your daughters, Marcella, Denise, Doreen, and Yvonne
