Earl Raymond Williams

Earl Williams passed away peacefully at his home in Plymouth, CA on December 14, 2024, at the age of 88. He was born to the late Ed and Bobbie Williams of Pioneer and was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Janet (Chisholm) Williams. 

Earl graduated from Amador High School and enlisted in the Army serving 2 years in Germany. Upon returning he married Janet, his high school sweetheart, and raised 3 children. 

As a boy, he worked heavy equipment on construction along side his dad into adulthood, until settling into a career of 32 years with Cal Trans. His favorite years of his career were when he became supervisor and was in charge of snow removal and avalanche control on Highway 88. Before retiring he became Superintendent for District 10. 

Earl and Janet both had a love of flying and secured their pilot licenses, resulting in the purchase of their small plane where they flew on many adventures with their friends who shared their interest. 

In later years their time and interests were taken up on their family ranches while promoting the future of agriculture and value it holds for future generations. 

As a mentor and pillar to his family, Earl was dearly loved and will be deeply missed by his daughters, Kelly Bechthold and Kathleen Williams, as well as 8 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. Also preceding him in death, were his son, Michael Williams and son-in-law, Doug Bechthold. 

A memorial service will be held on Daneri Mortuary in Jackson on Thursday, January 9, 2025 at 11:00a.m.
