Codruta Roman, 59, of Edgefield, South Carolina, passed away December 25, 2024 at Lexington Medical Center, West Columbia, South Carolina. She was born on January 5, 1965 in Dej, Romania to Vasile and Leontina (Falup) Roman. 

Codruta had a full and vibrant life, with accomplishments most of us could only dream of. She graduated from Cluj Technical University with a highly sought-after Construction Engineering Degree in Romania, and then immigrated to Canada and the US -- all before she was 35. She had a professional dancer background, too, that coupled with her love of great music: Queen, Abba, Boney M., Susan Boyle, and Celine Dion were just a few legendary examples from her personal music collection that she loved to sing along with at the top of her lungs. 

Codruta was also a strong, resilient, and smart woman, with an incredibly dry wit. She loved big laughs, salty snacks, classic rom-coms on repeat, and she especially had an affinity for purple orchids. She was dedicated to living life to every limit, committing to being the best mom to her son, while always staying true to her fiery, curious spirit. And man, she could make a mean tiramisu! It goes without saying then, that Codruta will be greatly missed by so many. 

Codruta is survived by her only child and son, Laurentiu Macarie, and her granddaughter, Stella. 

She was preceded in death by her father, Vasile.
