Dan T. Doerge passed away peacefully on January 6, 2025, in Beaufort, South Carolina.
Dan was born in Lakewood, Ohio on March 1, 1956, to parents, Martha Thompson Seelbach and John (Jack) Otto Doerge, Sr. Dan went to the University School in Cleveland and then to Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut for his bachelor’s degree in finance.
Dan lived in Denver, Colorado as a commercial banker. From there he went to Vail and then finally chose Hilton Head to retire, volunteer, and take care of his family. He loved participating in all sports: football, skiing, fishing, and biking (up to 4 hours/day). He was a volunteer for several activities and institutions including The Bargain Box on Hilton Head Island. He enjoyed staying in touch with friends from Denver, Trinity College, and Hilton Head.
Dan is survived by siblings; Doug Doerge and his wife Sharon, David Doerge, John O. Doerge (Jack) and wife Belinda Taylor; stepsister Peggi Mizer and her husband Michael, and his stepbrother Bill Seelbach and his wife ND. Dan was preceded in death by a sister Diane and stepbrother Bob.
Dan will be inurned at First Presbyterian Church Columbarium on Hilton Head Island in a private ceremony.
