Betty Loudene Davis
April 28, 1932 – January 4, 2025
Betty L. Davis, a longtime resident of Ontario, OR, passed away peacefully at the age of 92 on January 4, 2025, in Fruitland, ID.
Betty was born on April 28, 1932, in State Center, Iowa, to Caroline and Burt Lewis. After the death of her mother, she was lovingly raised by her stepmother, Dorothy, and her father, Burt. Betty's early years were marked by a spirit of independence and adventure. As a young girl, she enjoyed delivering newspapers on her motorcycle, affectionately named "Motorcycle Pete," a testament to her adventurous nature.
In the early 1950s, Betty and her family settled in Ontario, OR. It was there that she met Don, her future husband, at a local skating rink. Betty knew instantly that Don was the one, and they were married on August 29, 1950. Together, they started their family in 1953, with three sons and one daughter, who tragically passed away at birth.
Betty was a devoted mother and grandmother, and she cherished her family above all else. She had many interests and hobbies and was always working on a crochet or knitting project. From blankets to dolls, Betty’s hands were never idle, and she could make just about anything. She also loved playing cards and dominos, often gathering with family and friends for games.
Betty was a successful businesswoman in the Ontario community while she operated the "Easy Access Cafe" from 1979 - 1987. The cafe was home to many regular coffee drinkers who enjoyed Betty’s warm hospitality and the comforting atmosphere she created.
One of Betty’s greatest joys was being part of the "Golden Boot Scooters," a line dancing group that performed at schools, group homes, and even the Ontario Fair. Betty started with the group as the youngest member, and by her last performance, she was the oldest—a testament to her enduring spirit and love for life.
Sundays were a special time for Betty and her family. They would gather at her house for her famous chili and to watch football, cheering on the Denver Broncos—well, most of them did, at least!
Betty was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Donald Davis; her sons, Steve and Kevin Davis; her infant daughter, Suzette; and her infant grandson, Tristden. She is survived by her son, Rod (Penny) Davis; daughter-in-laws, Maxine Davis and Kathy Davis; grandchildren, Donna (Tony) Davies, Stephanie (Jerry) Anderson, Cameron Davis, Jennifer (Joel) Krueger, Colsey (Mike) Eicker, Amanda (Jonathan) Eiseman; 13 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
A private graveside burial will be held for the family. In the spring, the family welcomes everyone to join them in a celebration of Betty’s life. Please reach out to the family for details.
Betty will be deeply missed, but her memory will forever live on in the love she gave to her family and friends, and in the laughter and joy she brought to those around her.

Lienkaemper Funeral Chapel-Ontario
For over 100 years, the Lienkaemper Funeral Chapel has served the Ontario, Oregon, community with professional, compassionate care. Our story begins in 1907 when the Peterson family, who owned a furniture store in Ontario, helped with funeral arrangements and sold caskets from the store’s basement. Over the years, the business has grown and had a number of owners, partnerships and names. Among them was our current namesake, the Lienkaemper family, who purchased the family funeral home with the mission of helping families in the Ontario community. ...
