Memorial

It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Shirley Carol (Conrad) Braese, who departed this life on January 13, 2025, at her home where she spent countless moments with her beloved family. Born on October 18, 1937, in Plattsburgh, NY, Shirley's life was marked by her generosity, warmth, and unwavering dedication to her family.Shirley was the beloved daughter of Charles B. and Eva M. (Ducharme) Conrad, and was a sister to Joan Woodin, Carrie Gelabert, and Fern Vaughan, all of whom predeceased her. Her life was enriched by her marriage to Edward A. Braese, her devoted husband who preceded her in death in 2019. Together, they built a nurturing home filled with love and laughter, where she remained a loving presence for her son, Darin and his wife, Angela Braese, and her treasured granddaughters, Kelly and Amy Braese. Shirley was a dedicated employee of the former Mead Westvaco, where she was known for her hard work and commitment.Apart from her professional life, Shirley was a woman of many talents and interests. Her passion for cooking was matched only by her flair for crafts and her green thumb in the garden. But above all these, she cherished her role as a grandmother, finding joy and purpose in the time she spent with her granddaughters.Visitation will be held on January 21, from 10 AM to 11 AM, followed by a service at Beers & Story Belchertown Funeral Home at 11 AM. .
