Daughter of Albert and Doris Pearce. Cathi excelled at school and had a near photographic memory, which came in handy at exam time. She worked at St. Georges then accepted a position as Head Nurse and Teacher at Le Chatelard school in Switzerland. Le Chatelard was a British Girls Finishing School located in the Swiss Alps Region near Montreux, which is also where she learned to ski and fell in love with the sport.

In June of 1968 while at home in London, during the school's summer holiday, she agreed to a request from a nursing school/flat mate friend to show an American Soldier friend (Al) around London. His planned three-day visit extended to six days and a friendship and then marriage that has lasted for fifty-six years.

Cathi Moved to New York in 1970 and had secured a job in the Cardiac ICU at Mount Sinai Hospital in Manhattan.  Not long after she was promoted to Head Nurse of the ICU. Al and Cathi married in 72 and the next year bought their first home in Queens, NYC, where their son Adam was born. They then moved to Ridgefield, CT where Daughter Christa was born. Al's career involved a number of relocations through the years and Cathi always managed to make a welcoming home and develop an active social life. She also worked in Pediatrics, Hospice, Women's Health, and then in Health Insurance before she retired. After retirement Al and Cathi moved to Johns Island and spent the last 15 years there.

Cathis warm and vivacious personality was enjoyed by so many through the years. She left an indelible mark upon many lives around her. Versatile in her hobbies, as well as her work, she participated in skiing, tennis, needlepoint, quilting, flower arrangements and many other hobbies while avidly consuming crosswords.
