Lee James
September 5th, 1933 - November 16th, 2024
Lee Roy James began his journey to heaven to reunite with his wife of 64 years, our Mom, Mary Jo and our brother Gary. Dad suffered a short illness and passed away on November 16th, 2024. His children are left with a broken heart.Dad was born in Williams, Arizona September 5th, 1933 to his parents Roy and Faye James. He loved living in Arizona. As a teenager, him and his friends cut bark off of trees to make tobacco. Dad said it tasted pretty bad. Dad was always proud to tell the family how our Grandpa blazed the trails of the Grand Canyon. When Dad turned 15 our Grandpa got a job offer to move to Port Angeles, WA. After high school he worked at an auto body shop then shortly thereafter enlisted in the army stationed at Fort Lewis. He wasn't there long before he was set up on a blind date with our Mom, Josephine. It was love at first sight. They were married within the year and had 5 children within 11 years. After 11 years Dad got a job offer from an insurance company in Tacoma. One of his favorite hobbies was hunting with his brothers-in-law and his sons. We still have memories of Dad slicing up a deer carcass in the garage. No matter how many onions and celery Mom added to it it still tasted like deer. They loved taking cruises around the world after us kids had grown. After Dad retired he loved going to his grandchildren's and great grandchildren's sporting events. He always had a big pile of sunflower seeds beside his chair. Both Mom and Dad loved the holidays. Christmas and Easter celebrations were prepped for weeks in advance. They loved it.He is survived by four children, Rena (Bill), Vickie, Loren, and Kurtis (Danielle). Mom and Dad had eight grand children along with numerous great and great great grandchildren. Love you Mom and Dad, put on the coffee.
