Marilyn Ann Berg, 81, passed away peacefully January 11, 2025. She was born on May 23rd, 1943, in Saint Paul, Minnesota. She lived there with her parents. Marilyn graduated from Harding High School in 1960. Marilyn married Orin Berg on October 23, 1976. Along with her two children, Damon and Chione DiSanto, they lived in rural Pelican Rapids, Minnesota. Marilyn enjoyed meeting new people, was blessed with “the gift of gab” and could hold a meaningful conversation with a perfect stranger. Her creativity often kept her busy late into the evening, working on various projects. After Orin’s retirement from teaching, they moved back to Saint Paul to care for Marilyn’s mother, Helen. After several years, Marilyn developed COPD and moved to Woodbury Senior Living and resided there until the time of her passing.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her father, Harold Jacobe; mother, Helen Jacobe; and Husband of 48 years, Orin Berg.
She is survived by her son, Damon DiSanto (Margaret), Kerkhoven, Minnesota; her daughter, Chione Gould (Gerald), Grandin, North Dakota; grandchildren Christopher DiSanto (Nidia)Marshall, Minnesota; Candle Ness (Ryan) Raymond, Minnesota; Crestin Erickson (Nathaniel) Hutchinson, Minnesota; great-grandchildren Ayden, Norah, Emerson, Elias, Bennett and Belen; and many other relatives and friends.
Burial will take place at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Memorials can be sent to the American Lung Association.
