Angel Valley Funeral Home & Old Pueblo Crematory
Pedro Patrick Ahlmark
May 24th, 1953 - January 15th, 2025
Pedro Patrick Ahlmark, our beloved father, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 15, 2025, reuniting with his wife, Sigrid, in heaven. Known for his sometimes crazy and infectious sense of humor and culinary talents, Pedro loved creating ethnic dishes that brought people together. His passion for art, history, and music, along with his curiosity, enriched the lives of all who knew him.
Born on May 24, 1953, in Presque Isle, Maine, Pedro was the eldest son of an enlisted Chief Master Sergeant. As a child, he became an Eagle Scout and learned to dive in Puerto Rico. After earning his BA from the University of South Florida and a master’s degree from USC, he married Sigrid Hopkins in 1981 and had two children, Kelsey Rea and Dane, whom he cherished deeply. Pedro enjoyed a distinguished career in software engineering, including roles at the Pentagon, NASA, and Raytheon, which brought his family to Tucson in 1999.
Pedro is survived by his mother, Patricia of Jacksonville, NC; his brothers Jim, Carl, and Christian, also of North Carolina; his children, Kelsey Rea of Los Angeles, CA and Dane of Scottsdale, AZ; his grandchildren Ander, Drew, and Ray; and his beloved pets, Oz and Smokey. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sigrid, and his father, Pedro “Swede.”
Private viewing and memorial services will be held on Thursday, January 30, and Saturday, February 1. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Linda Blair WorldHeart Foundation or Sol Dog Lodge and Training Center.
