Jona Kophamer born August 27, 1960, passed away January 6, 2025, at the age of 64 after a brave battle with cancer. Jona left behind a legacy of love, laughter, and resilience. Born and raised in Homedale, Idaho, Jona’s early years shaped the strong, vibrant woman she would become—grounded, determined, and full of life.

Jona moved to Bakersfield, California, where she dedicated herself to raising her six children. As a partner in Kophamer Farms, she found great fulfillment in managing the day-to-day challenges of farming, all while cherishing her role as a stay-at-home mom. Her life revolved around her children—always there to guide, support, and love them.

One of Jona’s greatest passions was being involved in her community. She thrived in her role as PTA President for many years, pouring her heart into advocating for the well-being and education of all the children around her. Whether she was organizing school events or supporting her kids’ involvement in 4H and FFA, Jona was always there, ready to pitch in with enthusiasm and dedication.

Jona’s love for her family was unmatched, and she found joy in creating memories through travel. One of her favorite destinations was Pismo Beach, where the family would often visit, to bask in the beauty of the ocean. A lover of nature and photography, Jona had an eye for capturing life’s little moments, often taking photos that showcased the simple yet beautiful details of her surroundings.

With a sense of humor that could light up any room, Jona was witty, smart, and fearless. She had a sassy side that made her all the more unforgettable—a combination of charm, strength, and a zest for life that will never be forgotten.

Later in life, Jona returned to Idaho, where she reconnected with the friends and family she had missed so much over the years. In her final years, she took in the beauty of the Coeur d'Alene area, made new friendships and cherished having her friends, children and grandchildren visit.

Jona’s life was full—full of love, laughter, adventure, and family. She touched the hearts of all who knew her and leaves behind an enduring legacy of warmth, humor, and grace. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten.

Jona Kophamer is survived by her children Nanci Shoemaker (Chris Shoemaker), Erin Kophamer, Chance Kophamer(Daijana Anderson), Terra Kophamer(Mikiko McLeod) Seth Kophamer(Cynamon Weston) and Levi Kophamer, grandchildren Jordan Croft (Hunter Juarez), Jayda Croft (Ariadne Bruno), Jayce Shoemaker, Alaric McLeod, Arlowyn McLeod, Mazy Kophamer and her siblings Kevin Ensley (Ruthann Ensley) and Bobby Ensley.
