Margaret V Hinde
Margaret V. Hinde passed away at Starfish Village Care Home in Tucson, Arizona, on Friday, Januay 24, 2025. She was born November 2, 1928, to Art and Sena VanAsselt, in Hartford, Minnehaha County, South Dakota...
Marge attended Colton Public Schools and graduated from Beauty/Cosmetology College in Sioux Falls, SD, after which she married Donald Forslund. They had three children, Lynda, David and Leslie. In 1960 they moved from Sioux Falls to Rapid City South Dakota.
Marge joined the First Baptist Church in Rapid City and raised her family there until the marriage ended in 1968, at which time she moved back to Sioux Falls. Soon after she met Murray Wesley (Bill) Hinde, a widower with teenage daughter Laura. They married in 1972 and combined their families. The Forslund/Hinde family then moved back to Rapid City where Laura, David and Leslie were raised.
It was a very good life for Marge and Bill. In 1979 after Bill developed asthma they moved to Tucson. Both found good employment and joined El Camino Church in 1980. Marge has been a member of El Camino Church for over 45 years.
Marge and Bill retired in 1990 and bought a Toyota Sundancer motorhome and traveled for 10 years with their dog throughout the United States, visiting family, friends and many National Parks. Bill’s heart developed issues in 1998 and he passed in December of 2000.
In 2002, Marge met William (Bill) Thanos at Kings Heirs Sunday School and they were married in October of 2003. Bill Thanos passed from complications of diabetes in 2009.
Marge is survived by daughters, Lynda Nigh and Laura Klaich, son, David Forslund, five grandchildren, Daniel and Alex Forslund, Derek, Dawn and Joshua Washington, and one great grandchild, Myles Washington, and nieces and nephews residing in South Dakota.
Marge was preceded in death by: her husbands, her daughter Leslie Forslund, grandson Brian Forslund and brother William VanAsselt.
Donations may be made to Kings Heirs Mission Fund or to the Institute for Better Education for the benefit of Desert Christian Schools tuition scholarship program.
The Family gratefully thanks each of the caregivers at Starfish Village Care home and the nurses and caretakers from Casa de la Luz Hospice.
