Robert Ray Jacobs, Jr. was born in Lake Charles, Louisiana April 9th, 1956 to Robert Ray Jacobs, Sr. and Vercy Mae Jacobs. The oldest of eight (8), he took care of his siblings and helped his mother when needed. He graduated from East High School in 1974 and joined the Air Force. During his time in the military, he fathered his first child, Kenneth Ray Jacobs. After leaving the Air Force in 1977, he returned to Lake Charles, Louisiana for work. In 1984, he met the love of his life, Marjorie Dent, and they had a daughter, Jasmine (Jacobs) Bilbo. He became the best Girl-Dad and amazing stepfather! Through the years, Robert and Marjorie rekindled many times but remained married with an incredible friendship. As a dedicated employee with United Airlines, Robert rose through the ranks and enjoyed a great career. After a long battle with illness, Robert departed the flesh on January 21, 2025.

 

Those left to cherish his memory include two children, Kenneth (Tameka) Jacobs and Jasmine (Jeremiah) Bilbo; five stepchildren; five grandchildren, Deshawn Jacobs, Darius Wilridge, II and Riley Jacobs; two sisters, Pamela (Louis) Oglesby and Paula Robinson; three brothers, Wayne Jacobs, Lloyd Jacobs, and Troy Jacobs; one aunt, Wilma Nell (Vince) Broussard' one uncle, Jesse Semien (Gwen); close friend, Ronald (Dee) Holmes and has a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Robert is preceded in death by his grandparents, Hurley and Loretha Semien; parents, aunts, and Beloved Uncle Jame Semien (Sonny Boy); two brothers, Terrel (Ted) and Darrell (Boo) Jacobs and soulmate, Marjorie Jacobs. He will be deeply missed by his friends, family, and all who knew him.
