Robert "Bob" Hackman, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on January 26, 2025, surrounded by his wife, Judy, of 63 years, and his family.

Bob is survived by his loving wife, Judith K. Hackman (Wright); his children, Faith Mondoux (Dennis), Robert (Ann), and Christopher (Debbie); eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and his brothers, Rodney, Raymond, and Ronald.

Bob’s pride and joy were his children, Faith, Rob, and Christopher, who inherited his sharp wit, love for life, and commitment to family.  He taught them the value of hard work and the importance of family and friendships.

Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to the late Mary and Raymond Hackman, Bob grew up in a family of four boys. From a very early age, he was determined to travel the world.

Bob proudly served in the United States Marine Corps, dedicating himself to upholding the values of honor, courage, and commitment. His years of service shaped him into an honorable and steadfast man who inspired and challenged all who knew him.

On September 2, 1961, Bob married the love of his life, Judith Kay Wright. They moved to Michigan, where he founded Laboratory Services, which became DURCON epoxy resin, the world’s leading epoxy resin work surfaces manufacturer. His business took him all around the globe, from Singapore to England to Dubai and beyond. After retiring, Bob and Judy partnered with friends to start a winery, Clos Pissara, in the Gratallops region of Spain.

Bob had a deep love and appreciation for the outdoors. His travels took him across the world, where he hunted deer, lion, zebra, crocodile, and elephant. He loved to fish and spent countless hours on the golf course with friends and family in Michigan and Hilton Head Island.

Bob lived life to the fullest, cherishing every moment he was blessed with. His larger-than-life presence, incredible stories, and unwavering heart left a profound impact on everyone he encountered. His legacy continues to live on in the countless lives he touched.

Funeral services for Bob will be held on Saturday, February 15, 2025, at 11:00 am at Grace Community Church, 450 Spanish Wells Road, Hilton Head Island, SC 29926. Following the service, a Celebration of Life luncheon will take place beginning at 12:30pm at The Golf Club at Indigo Run, 101 Berwick Drive, Hilton Head Island, SC 29926.

In lieu of flowers, Judy requests that donations be made to one of Bob’s favorite charities:
