Carol Jean Hutchins, age 74 of Kingsport, TN passed from this earthly life to eternal life to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on January 31, 2025, after a brief illness.  Carol became a Christian at a preaching service held in Hartwell, GA many years ago.  Carol was born on September 27, 1950, in Salem, NJ to Joel and Wanda Jones McMurray. 

Carol was a dedicated wife and mother to her husband and three daughters.  Carol was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Donna Jean Hutchins; sister, Cathy Cooper; and nephew, Joey McMurray.  Those left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 50 years, Larry Hutchins; two daughters, Delores Burton and husband, Harley, and Angela Venable and husband, Tyler; two granddaughters, Jordan Boswell and husband, Jonathan, and Hannah Templeton and husband, Haden; one grandson, Gavin Venable; five great-grandchildren; one brother, Joe Alvin McMurray; several nieces and nephews; and her special cousin and friend, Brenda Croy and husband, Howard. 

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, February 4, 2025, from 12:30 pm to 2:00 pm at Carter-Trent Funeral Home Kingsport.  A funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm with Pastor Wayne Baker officiating.  A graveside service will follow at Chestnut Flats Church Cemetery.  Carol’s family and friends will be serving as pallbearers.
