Juan (aka John or Johnny) Mendoza was born on January 23, 1964, in Laredo, Texas, to his loving parents, Silverio and Gloria Mendoza. At a young age, his family moved to Worland, Wyoming, before eventually settling in Colorado, where he built a life filled with faith, love, and service.

A devoted follower of Christ, Juan was an active member of the Upper Room Church, where he cherished his church family. He found great joy in playing the guitar with the church band and had a servant’s heart, always willing to lend a helping hand. Juan also proudly served his country as a U.S. Army veteran.

He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Silverio and Gloria Mendoza; his sisters, Yolanda Reyes, Mary Alcaraz, and Linda Suniga; and his brother, Rick Mendoza.

Juan leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion. He is survived by his wife, Lisa E. Mendoza; his children, Juan J. Mendoza Jr., Antonio S. Mendoza, Christopher L. Mendoza, and Daia E. Mendoza (Andrew Lee); and his cherished grandchildren, Olivea A. Mendoza, Patricia A. Mendoza, and Amileo C. Mendoza. He is also survived by his siblings, Elsa Mendoza, Elijio Mendoza (Celia), Pat Mendoza, and Belen Mendoza, as well as numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends who will forever hold him in their hearts.

Juan’s warmth, kindness, and unwavering faith touched the lives of many. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 11, 2025 at Romero Funeral Home, 4750 Tejon St, Denver, CO 80211, at 10:00 AM.
