Marilyn Marie Bass Swart, 70, passed away on Thursday, January 23, 2025, at Silas Creek Rehabilitation Center in Winston-Salem.

She was born on November 19, 1954, to the late Elizabeth Spainhour Bass and James Milton Bass of Kernersville. In addition to her parents, Marilyn was preceded in death by her brother, Richard Warren Bass.

Marilyn was a 1973 graduate of East Forsyth High School. She went on to pursue a BS degree in Elementary Education from East Carolina University in 1977.

Survivors include her son, Daniel Swart; sister, Cindy Wilkes and husband, Jerry; and brothers, David Bass, and Jimmy Bass and wife, Vivian.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM on Wednesday, February 5, 2025, at the Pierce-Jefferson Funeral Services Kernersville Chapel.
