Ruth "Sally" Leone Crawford Nill
November 13th, 1935 - February 5th, 2025
Ruth Leone Crawford was born November 13th, 1935, to Charles and Lillian Crawford in Rugby, North Dakota. She passed away on February 5th, 2025, at home in Eugene at the age of 89. She was the youngest of three sisters.
While attending the University of Oregon, she met her husband to be Herb Nill at a fraternity party. They were married on July 27, 1957.
Ruth went by the name Sally growing up. She and her husband raised three young men, Marty, Shannon and Eric. Herb Nill passed away in 2016. The family grew up attending Central Lutheran Church in Eugene where all three boys were confirmed.
Sally was an athlete, U of O graduate, dedicated wife and mother. She was active in golf and tennis. She enjoyed family time and travel.
The Nill family is planning a Memorial service at Central Lutheran Church. A date will be announced soon.
