In Loving Memory of Anne Wegener Brunner

Anne Wegener Brunner, born on March 30, 1952, in Ridgewood, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on February 2, 2025. She spent her early years in Waldwick, New Jersey, before her family moved to Lisbon, New Hampshire. She attended Fryeburg Academy, graduating in 1970, and later studied at Westbrook College. Her love of travel began at 16 when she spent a semester abroad traveling through Europe, sparking a lifelong passion for exploring new places and cultures.

In 1980, Anne moved to Colorado, where she built a life filled with love and adventure. She is survived by her devoted husband, Rod Brunner, and her four children: Chris Smolik (48), Adrienne Smolik (46) and her husband Raul, Robin Fogg (39) and his wife Pin, and Roxanne Townsend (33) and her husband John. She also leaves behind her beloved sister, Lisa of Concord, New Hampshire, and her brother, Keith of Portland, Maine. Anne was a loving grandmother to Oliver (6) and Olivia (3) and a cherished aunt to 11 nieces and nephews. She will be deeply missed by her extended family and the many friends whose lives she touched.

In her 60s, Anne courageously battled and survived breast cancer, showing incredible resilience and strength. No matter what life brought her way, she met it with grace, laughter, and an unshakable spirit.

She loved being surrounded by family and friends, filling every gathering with warmth and joy. A true traveler at heart, she explored the United States and found a special place in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. She also had a deep love for cruising, relishing the excitement of new destinations and the simple joy of being out on the open water.

Anne had a lifelong love for lobster, and nothing made her happier than a classic New England seafood feast with steamers and butter. Whether reminiscing over old photos, planning the next big adventure, or simply laughing with loved ones, she embraced life with a full heart.

Anne’s legacy is one of love, laughter, courage, and creativity. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

A celebration of her life will be planned at a later date in Colorado to honor her memory. In lieu of flowers, the family invites you to support breast cancer research.
