June Victoria Wright
September 3rd, 1930 - February 3rd, 2025
It is with sadness that we announce the passing of June Victoria Wright, who left us peacefully on February 3, 2025, at the age of 94. June was a cherished family member, a beloved teacher, and a friend to many.
June was born on September 3, 1930, in Sacramento CA to Clarence and Stella Robison.
Her qualities of kindness, curiosity, creativity, and love of nature made her a life-long learner, teacher, and artist.
After receiving her teaching degree from San Jose State University, June began teaching for California Public Schools in 1952. The Wright family moved to Colorado in 1969 where she began teaching elementary grades for Jefferson County Schools. While teaching and raising her three children, she achieved her master’s degree in teaching from the University of Colorado and pursued her doctoral degree in educational psychology with an emphasis in gifted and talented program development at Denver University. Her later career was focused on teaching select gifted children and designing in-service training for other educators. Following her retirement in 1998 she returned to teaching part-time at Montessori Peaks Academy, a Jefferson County Charter School. Her dedication and passion for teaching were evident with the many commendations and lasting relationships with both students and parents.
Beyond her professional accomplishments, June was known for her artistic talent, creativity, and colorful style. She was married to Robert Wright for thirty years and together they built a loving home for Darrell, Jolene, and Stuart. She was an avid painter and photographer and loved to explore new mediums for creative expression. Her love for artistic exploration was inspiration for others to embrace new experiences and find their own view of beauty.
June is survived by daughter Jolene Wright (Georgia) of Eyota MN, son Stuart Wright (Christine) of Wetmore CO, and granddaughter Alexis Wright of Wetmore CO.
There are no events planned as that was June’s wish. Donations can be made to the ASPCA or Nature Conservancy in honor as an alternative to flowers.
