Franklin Delano “Jack” Lacy, 91, of Lynchburg, passed away Tuesday, February 11, 2025 at Lynchburg General Hospital, He was the husband of Rebecca M. Lacy for almost 66 years.

Born August 19, 1933 in Huddleston, VA, he was a son of the late  Annie Elizabeth Lacy. He served our country in the U.S. Navy (Airedale) and was a navigator on Grumman S3F ASW. He was a graduate of E.C. Glass High School and a member of St. Andrew Presbyterian Church for over 60 years where he served as a Deacon and Elder for multiple periods.

He was a successful businessman in Lynchburg are having worked at Vaughan Chevrolet and Belk/Leggett Department Stores for over 40 years. He was also the original founder of Timberlake Lighting. Additionally, Jack was a member of the Campbell County Water Authority. After retirement he started a career as a Realtor with Smith and Thurmond Reality for many years. He was a member of both Elks Lodge and the Masons

In addition to his wife, Becky, he is survived by one son, David Cyrus  (Gwen) of Fayetteville, GA; two daughters, Vickie Martin (Butch) of Bedford, VA and Kathy Hamlett (predeceased husband Darrell) of Forest, VA; five grandchildren, Matthew Cyrus (Kelly) of Peachtree City, GA, Jason Cobb of Richmond, VA, Andrew Cyrus (partner Lauren Hall) of Senoia, GA, Lacy Hamlett Yeatts (Jacob) of Appomattox, VA and Craig Hamlett (Emile) of Lynch Station, VA; four great grandchildren, Virginia Cyrus of Peachtree City, GA, Conner Smith of Peachtree City, GA, Aubrey Cyrus of Peachtree City, GA and Jack Cyrus of Senoia, GA. 

 

A family visitation will be held from 11:00 AM to 12 noon at St. Andrew Presbyterian Church on Wednesday, February 19, 2025 followed by a funeral service at 12 noon at the church. Burial will be in Fort Hill Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to St Andrew Presbyterian Church, 21206 Timberlake Rd., Lynchburg, VA 24502.
