Flahiff Funeral Chapels & Crematory-Homedale
Linda Elaine Gantz
April 11th, 1942 - February 10th, 2025
Linda Elaine Evans Gantz was born on April 11, 1942 to Blanche and Marion Evans in Caldwelll, ID. She lived her whole life in the Caldwell/Notus area and graduated from Caldwell High School in 1960. Linda was very active in school and outside activities. She was a Job Daughter, she sang and played the piano throughout school, she was one of the first girls to receive a school letter at Caldwell HS (in tennis), and she was named the Betty Crocker Homemaker of the Year her senior year.
She married the love of her life Jim in June of 1961. Together with their two daughters, they enjoyed many years of camping, fishing, and time spent with both sides of their extended families. Linda sold Avon for many years, achieving high honors and many awards. Linda also spent many years as an elementary school secretary for the Caldwell School District. Mom and dad were very involved in all their girls’ activities from 4-H to High School. Linda was an avid gardener and a champion herself at the fair, winning the largest of the family’s trophies. Animals were always a part of the family and from the time they were married, Linda always had a Pomeranian by her side. In their later years, Jim and Linda enjoyed travelling to Jackpot and the Oregon coast, and they always had a large vegetable and flower garden that they shared with many neighbors and friends. Her heart was fullest when her family was with her, and she most enjoyed when her kids and grandkids would visit. Linda was loved by all who met her and she never met a stranger.
Linda is survived by her husband of 63 years James; brother Dale Evans, Nampa; daughter’s Kristen (John) Baldazo, Julie Morgan, of Notus; grandsons Michael Baldazo (Mandalyn Ross), Kuna; Nickolas Morgan, Nampa, and Grace (Mark) Jones, Michigan; and many more family members and friends.
The family would like to give special thanks to all those who have helped us through these difficult times. Hospice caregivers Becca, Kristina, Cindy, Tiffani, and Sydney. The hospital staff at West Valley Medical Center and St Alphonsus CCU, Ryan, Jenna, and Dr. Holweger.
In lieu of flowers, a donation to Lake Lowell Animal Rescue in Linda’s name would be appreciated.
Services will be held on Tuesday, February 18, 2025 at 10:00 am at Flahiff Funeral Chapel in Homedale, 27 E Owyhee Ave., with graveside services following at the Wilder Cemetery.
