Cesare Solomita passed away peacefully at home on Monday, Feb 3, 2025, at the of 88. He was born in the small town of Sturno, Italy, on August 28, 1936.  Cesare is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Dina Solomita; his children, Claudia Williams, Cristina S. Annarella, and Michael Solomita; and his cherished grandchildren, Ryan Williams, Joshua Williams, Claire Annarella, John Annarella, Andrew Annarella, Quinlan Solomita and Gwendolyn Solomita.

At the age of 25, Cesare embarked on a journey to New York by boat alongside his best friend, Fiorentino.  He made Long Island his home for about five years, where fate led him to the love of his life while working at a coat factory.  Cesare and Dina married in Pittsburgh before setting their sights on the West Coast, settling  in Santa Monica, California, in search for better climate and career opportunities.

Cesare was mentored from a young age by a professional tailor in Stuno, Italy.  He dedicated 45 years to his profession, taking immense pride in his work.  With meticulous attention to detail, he altered fine suits and dresses with precision and care.  He was always impeccably dressed, wearing a suit to work every day.  Throughout his career, he lent his expertise to esteemed department stores such as Harris & Frank, Robinson's, and Nordstrom.

Upon retiring, Cesare and Dina embraced their love of travel, frequently visiting family in Europe and South America.  They also explored the United States, making countless memories along the way.  Family adventures were an integral part of his life, from road trips to camping excursions, ensuring that his children experienced the joy of travel from a young age.

One of our family's greatest joys was gathering for Sunday dinners, where Cesare always sat at the head of the table, surrounded by loved one and homemade Italian food.  These weekly gatherings were the highlight of our week-a time to share stories, catch up on our busy lives, and enjoy the warmth of family.  It was a tradition that meant so much to our dad, and we will deeply miss those moments filled with love, laughter, and treasured memories.

Cesare will be deeply missed, but his legacy of love, hard work, and devotion to family will live on in the hearts of those who knew him.

Rest in peace, our beloved father.  You are so loved and will be dearly missed.
