Adella Abeyta

Adella Abeyta, of Longmont, Colorado, passed away peacefully on February 8, 2025, surrounded by her family, at 90 years old. Adella was born to Fred and Rita Gonzales on June 17, 1934, in Erie, Colorado.

Adella grew up in Erie where she attended school and lived as a farm girl.

Adella married Tony Abeyta, and over the years had 5 children.

She held various jobs throughout her life; her most fulfilling was at Peaks Care, where she cared for, and was loved by so many. Adella looked forward to coffee and donuts in the morning and enjoyed listening to Spanish music.

Adella is survived by her daughters; Annette Castanon (Ray), Jennifer Abeyta, Tammy (Steve) Prentice; her 9 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren, her brothers; Marcellino Apodaca (Sara), and Robert Apodaca (Angie), and numerous nieces and nephews. 

Adella was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Tony, sons Anthony and Fred and grandson baby Ricky; sisters, Minnie, Bernice and Jenny; God-daughter Catherine, and her favorite dog, Sammy.

Adella’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. 

A Visitation will be held on Friday, February 28th at 10:00am, with a Celebration of Life at 10:45am, at Carroll Lewellen Funeral and Cremation Services. Burial will follow, at Mountain View Cemetery, at 1:00pm. There will be no reception at this time.
