Sharon Denise Sells
October 5th, 1956 - February 14th, 2025
Sharon Denise Sells passed away in Wheat Ridge, CO on February 14, 2025 at the age of 68. She was born on October 5, 1956, in Denver, CO.
Sharon entered the workforce at the age of 14, working for her father Carl Schneiderwent, while still attending Highland High School. After graduating in 1974, she started work at Mile-Hi Fire Apparatus. Her strong work ethic and drive for excellence quickly made it apparent that she was an indispensable asset to the company, and she went on to assume 100% ownership for many years.
Sharon was also a Rebekah Sister in the Independent Order of Odd Fellows. She joined the organization in 1981. She was highly active in the organization and held many offices of high honor; President of the Rebekah Assembly of Colorado, International Youth Committee member and Treasurer of the Assembly to name a few.
Another organization that she held dear to her heart is the Mile High Hook and Ladder Club, which is the Colorado Chapter of SPAAMFAA (the Society for the Preservation & Appreciation of Antique Motor Fire Apparatus in America). She even bought her own antique fire truck and participated in numerous parades and musters, as well as giving birthday and graduation rides to members of the community during the Covid pandemic.
Sharon is survived by her husband Gary Aragon, daughter Jennifer Dawson (Kou), grandchildren Layla Yang and Dylan Yang, stepchildren Timothy Aragon (Sheila) and Heather Aragon (Michael), step-grandchildren Timothy Aragon Jr., Adrian Aragon, Aubriana Aragon, Marissa Moya, Devin Aragon and Vanessa Escobedo, mother Jackie Schneiderwent, sisters Theresa Petrino (Daniel), Anna Nielsen (Darron) and Laura Huske (Scott), brothers Timothy Schneiderwent (Jeannie) and George Mitze, as well as many nieces, nephews and great grandchildren.
She is proceeded in death by her father Carl Schneiderwent, aunts Jeannie White, Jerry Hunt, and Judy Sobeski, and Uncle John Johnson.
A Celebration of Life will be held Monday, February 24, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Columbian Home Event Center at 1096 E. Bridge Street, Brighton, CO 80601.
