Pauline Moreno York
January 26th, 1934 - January 31st, 2025
Pauline York passed away in her home with family at her side on January 31, 2025. She was born in Denver on January 26, 1934 to Joseph and Mariquitta Moreno.
She is survived by her daughter Raynita (Gary), grandson Curtis Stovall (Hannah), granddaughter Sheena Stovall Hornecker (Quinn) and great grandmother of Lila, Lucy, Benjamin, and Arlie. Also, survived by her brother Tete (Sheila) and sisters Mita and Dolly, as well as many cousins and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Ralph and son, Dallas.
Pauline was raised in Denver and lived in west Colfax hanging out with friends, watching the trollies going up and down Colfax. She met and married her husband Ralph of 65 years. He was a farmer from Hubbardsville, New York, who was on leave from the Air Force in Denver when they met. They were married in 1953 and moved to Edgewater where she resided for 68 years.
She was involved in the City of Edgewater in many different areas, to get them started or to keep them going. She was involved in the parks and recreation before realizing that hte senior citizens had a real need. She became actively involved in starting the Edgewater Young at Hearts. She started many programs, kept many programs going and never stopped. She attended almost every council meeting and volunteered for any program that needed help.
She was a lifelong Democrat and campaigned relentlessly during every election. She was awarded the Eleanor Roosevelt.
Those who knew that summer was not far off when she started to cruise around in her orange 1948 Jeepster.
Those who knew her referred to her as the Energizer Rabbit, she just never stopped moving. She lived life to the fullest, giving all that she had to those that needed it.
She attended St. Mary Magdelene’s Church where she was a prayer warrior. She faithfully prayed for literally hundreds of people, all by name. She loved the Lord with all her heart.
She is one lady who will be remembered and missed.
