Robert Schwaeble

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Robert Alan Schwaeble, who left us on February 20, 2025 at 80 years old. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, sibling, and friend, whose kindness and warmth touched everyone who knew him.

Born on March 2, 1944, in Englewood, New Jersey, Robert lived a life full of love, hard work, and dedication to his family and his service in the U.S. Air Force. He had a deep love for the outdoors, enjoying hobbies such as fishing, hunting, and riding motorcycles. An avid sports fan, he never missed a chance to watch a game, whether in person or on television, and he especially loved cheering for his favorite team, the Colorado Avalanche.

One of his cherished family traditions was the annual challenge from his younger sister, who took great joy in torturing him with brain teasers every Christmas—something he tackled with both frustration and laughter.

Robert is survived by his wife of 52 years, Soobun, whom he married on May 19, 1972 in the Udornthani, Thailand. 

He is also survived by three children; Kim Wood and her husband Amon Wood, Tammi Paul, and Matti Schwaeble; six grandchildren, Justin Paul, Thairis Wood, Aneyah Wood, Nyath Wood, Tanus Wood, and Jeremiah Schwaeble, and his last surviving sibling, sister, Sue Schwaeble.

Robert is preceded in death by his father, Matthew John Schwaeble, his mother, Mary Ida Kukkonen, and his two sisters, Marilyn Ippolito, and Carol Berry.

His memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved him.

The visitation will be 10:00AM, Funeral Service is 11:00AM, Thursday, March 13, 2025, at The Springs Funeral Services - North, located at 4310 Austin Bluffs Parkway, Colorado Springs, Colorado, 80918. Robert will be laid to rest at Pikes Peak National Cemetery at 1:00PM, Thursday, March 13, 2025.
