Some lives are measured in years, while others are measured by the love they leave behind—a love that lingers, resonates, and forever shapes the world that held them. Scott Krause was one of those extraordinary souls. He did not walk through this life unnoticed, nor did he leave it untouched. His presence was a gift. The impact he made can never be measured or defined. His legacy will be eternal - etched into the hands he held, the hearts he lifted, and the countless lives he saved.

Scott held countless titles for all of us. A husband, father, brother, uncle, cousin, friend, mentor. Anyone could call him in the dead of night, and he would answer without hesitation. A neighbor in need. A friend seeking advice. Even a stranger facing their worst day. No matter who needed him, Scott showed up, with everything he had in him- with steady hands, a kind heart, and wisdom that steadied those who found themselves lost in the trials we are so often faced with.

From the moment he answered his first call as a firefighter, to the day he hung up his helmet, Scott lived a life of unwavering dedication. His career as a firefighter from Boot, to Captain, and ultimately Chief for the Tucson Fire Department, was more than a job - it was a lifelong commitment woven into the fabric of his heart. He ran toward danger so others could find safety, offering more than protection. He strived to provide reassurance in life’s most harrowing moments. His leadership was built on integrity, courage, and an unshakable sense of duty. To his crew and fellow firemen, he was a foundational presence whose voice and memory will forever exist in the Tucson Fire Department.

Scott’s greatest legacy will forever be seen in the incredible light he left behind. His faith guided his every step, and through the grace of God, he lived a life of love, service, and overwhelming heroism. He gave without question. He loved without condition, and he stood unwavering in his belief that the measure of a life well-lived was in how well you loved and cared for others.

He leaves behind a family who adored him, friends who cherished him, and a community that will forever carry an imprint from his dedication. Though our hearts ache in his absence, we take comfort in knowing that his was a life poured out in service and incredible love to everyone around him and our Lord Almighty.

A celebration of his life will be held on March 6 th at 8:00am at Pantano Christian Church, where we will honor the man who taught us all what it means to live with courage and love without hesitation.

Rest now, Chief. Your work here is done, but your light will never fade.

Scott Krause is survived by his wife of 38 years, Susan and their daughters, Kristin and Lauren; his sisters, Deanna and Kristine; his brother, Keith; and his grandchildren, Eleanor, Benjamin, and Theodore
